Installing new front & rear badges
Hello all,
I am eagerly awaiting a set of red front and rear Honda badges from the folks at MG racing, and I was hoping someone could give me some tips on installation. I understand that I should use dental floss to remove the old badges. Should I just work the floss under the badges? Should I use any lubrication, solvent, etc. with the floss? Obviously, I don't want to do anything to harm the paint.
Also, what type of glue should I use to attach the new badges? Once again, I don't want to use any glue that can not be removed later without harming the paint.
Thanks for your input!

i used dental floss and WD40. - use masking tape around the edges.
the trunk badge comes out REALLY easy - it has two pegs put in a force-fit plastic thingies.
The hood badge sux though - it has metal rings around the pegs. I had to break the pegs off, but another owner had success with prying the rings off with a fork.

I'd stress the importance of masking off around the badges before you start to tackle this to avoid any scratches on the surrounding paint work.
The new badges (if they are like OEM EU ones) ought to have adhesive pads on the back from new, if they don't use some 3M double sided tape that most car accessory shops ought to carry.
Make sure to clean off all the old glue from your panels (sticky stuff remover etc.) and then wipe down the surfaces with some isopropanol alcohol or similar to ensure they are truly clean so the new adhesive adheres properly.

The new badges should have factory supplied double-sided tape which is nicely lined perfectly, it holds on to the body with no problems whatsoever ... So you don't need additional reinforcements, unless you're wary of potential badge stealers.
