Your not going to like what they tell you. One good thing about living on an island is if it gets stolen they won't have to look far.

expect to pay over 200

im 22, no accidents/tickets on record, and pay about 140/month living in miami. this is for 100/300/100 coverage with 500 deductibles. anywhere else id be paying <100 month but south FL is FTL with insurance rates.

I'm pretty sure south FL is FLT for anything other than checking out chics in thongs and/or topless on the beaches.

I spent a week in south beach...saw someone get car-jacked and had someone try to sell me crack twice!

in NYC i insured it under my name as the driver but still under my dad's policy. i'm 22 with a 6 year clean driving record. for an 02 s2k it came out to 1200/6 mo. i was pretty shocked...but putting the car w/ my dad as the driver it only came out to 500/6 months.

i have no idea about hawaii though but i wouldn't be surprised if you get 3-400 a month. they aren't kidding these cars are expensive as hell to insure.

pretty much. javascript:emoticon('')i work in downtown miami (about 5 minutes from south beach) and on a weekly basis i see what you described

downtown sucks for that reason, but theres nice areas as well as in any metropolitan area.

so called a few more places today.
all state came in at about 1600/6mo
highest quote i got.

mostly everyone else's rates were about the same.
sitting somewhere around 1200/6mo
which is what i thought i'd be paying.

and the last place i called (state farm), was quite unbelieveable..
i actually called the lady back, to make sure i heard things right, and to get her to send me that quote to my email address.
she said at their agency they don't go by "age" or "date of license"
but more on driving history of everyone in the house.

so with my mom's 1 speeding ticket
my quote came out to be 752/6mo...
pleasure vehicle
100/300/100 liability with prop damage i think.
20/40 under/uninsured
and 500 deduct

then i was told if my mom hadn't had that speeding ticket my price would be more around 598/6mo.

looks like i'll be an s2k owner soon!!!
