Insurance is hell

Insurance in Lithuania is 170-220 Litas/year (that`s ~56-73$). That goes and for 78` Volkswagen Golf and for 2003 Lamborgini Murcelago as well
Rumors say next year it might go up to 900Lt (300$). With a minimal salary of 450 Lt/m (~150$) it`s kinda much for the majority of population
Heh, there's a reason I was driving crappy cars before I hit 25. At 19 I paid $360 a month for full coverage on a $8k geo storm. I paid more for insurance than car payments. Now I pay about $140 a month with 3 points on my license, course I'm 28 now, pushing 29. New Jersey currently has the highest average insurance cost in the country. Look it up, its sad.
17 - 1985 4 door pontiac sunbird... can you say vroom... not in that car.
19 - 1993 Geo Storm... It was Magenta, oooo teeniebopper delight.
22 - 1995 Eagle Talon... Base model! Great exercise rolling up those windows.
23 - 1998 Mits Eclipse GS... I still miss this car actually, if it was a GSX I would have kept it.
26 - 2002 Mits Eclipse GT... Nice enough car, drove like a boat from the Gallant frame and suspension. Mits gets dumber every model year.
28 - 2000 honda S2000... Don't know yet if its the best car I've owned, but its certainly the most fun.
Future.. No clue. I'll probably keep the S2k as a toy/project car even after I've moved on to a new daily driver.

I'm 31 and getting divorced. Therefore, I lose my married rate, and my multi car discount on the S. I also have 1 accident on my record. I'm with USAA and it's going to go up $40+ a month to $1120 every 6 months. I thought that was ludacris until I read some of these other posts.
Ah, but its a business that has to make money and pay employees. Number 2 when you're in an accident it can range into the hundreds of thousands if an injury occured. So by your reasoning if you hit someone who then won a lawsuit against you for 150k but you only paid 1500 in insurance YOU are then responsible to pay the rest. If you ever get into a major accident or cause one you'll start thinking insurance was worth the investment.
Insurance companies are taking a risk when they insure you. You could pay 40-60k in insurance in your lifetime, but cost them 100k. They are basically speculating and playing the odds that they'll make more than they spend. Insurance is getting so high because some dumbass gets in an accident, stubs his toe, claims back injuries are making his toe hurt, and collecting 50k. The scammers are hurting all of us.
