If your looking for HP gains start else were on your car. The intake really doesn't give you much HP, rather it gives you a nice sound and maybe a little better gas milage.

Mrxpsycho, theres another company that makes one that costs more than the mugen intake, and I cant remember the name of the company, I bet some of the rest of the crew knows what I am refering to. Sorry, I am a newb with the s2000 and Honda performance scene, I moved over from Toyota so I dont know the vendors all that well. Best I can remember, European company, supplies Ferrari with performance parts as well and has a Ferrari for their flash intro. I think the unit itself sold for 2500-3500 for their intake. But it is pretty tight if I must say so myself and you dont have to replace the hood (maybe).

I would start with the exhuast first because you might end up deciding on a super charger or turbo later on down the road and a 3" exhuast would help you out alot. The intake and Vtec controller seem to be stepping stones towards a SC or TB, so why spend money on something you'll probably end up getting rid of later on, unless you planning on using NOS then that would be a good set up. After your car starts to gain additional HP, it seems you always want more, so why not start off with the exhuast, clutch, super charger, fuel managment system etc. you get my drift. Here's what I did, I first made a huge wish list of things I would like to do to the car, then I did alot of searchs here on things in my wish list to give me a better ideal of the pro's and con's on the things I want. Now my list is refined and I'm starting to slowly piece my car together. Another good ideal is to go to as many S2000 events as you can and ask alot of questions

This is only my opinion and others might not agree, so take it for what it is and best of luck to you
