There is another reason for a inside trunk release in a S2K - even though for most folks getting in the trunk and closing the lid without being dismembered is unlikely...

I'm pretty sure Honda sales brochures (when pointing out safety stuff) say something to the effect that "All Hondas have inside trunk releases".

Wouldn't want to make exceptions for one model, would we?

Honda wanted to kill off its 'less intelligent' owners. The release only works when the trunk is open. It's really just a ploy to increase saftey ratings.

All Hondas have trunk releases? No wonder the mafia doesn't drive Accords!!!!

The odds are far greater that you'll be locked in the back of someone elses trunk vs. your own. Carry a Strider AR and you'll be out of any trunk as quick as a rat through a drainpipe.

Actually, all new cars have a trunk release. Its a federal law passed several years ago. I don' think there is an exception if the trunk is too small.

The problem with telling the kids about is that what happens when they try the same trick in a car that does NOT have the release?
