Interesting thread at Miataforum.
WRS2K - Having a tough morning already?
Performance: Out of the box, the Miata is not capable of the same performance as the S2000, but they sure are a lot of fun to drive. Calling the S2000 "far superior" to the Miata is overstating the case. Go to an autocross and be prepared to be embarrassed by a capable driver in an "inferior" Miata. Also, there is one aspect of the Miata that has the S2000 beat, hands down - aftermarket support. If you like to tinker with cars, the Miata is an excellent platform for modifications that will allow it to embarrass us on the street, autocross course and on the track.
Cuteness: Just how many of us get bent out of shape when people call the S2000 cute? Greg ...
?
I think we (roadster enthusiasts) have a lot more in common than we want to admit.

I also wish we had 1/3rd of the aftermarket support that the Miatas have. I know the S2k market will get larger over time, but it will never be as big as that for the Miata. The downside of owning a limited production vehicle I suppose.

Our board, except for a few newbies, is very open to other cars and we know the advantages/disadvantages of other cars vs. ours.
