Blackie
Well said.

Zoinks, R stark,
I hope our community is civil enough not to rise to some inflammatory bait.

I can't believe the comment about the "OK" engine. What does it take? Lets see, highest specific output/liter for any normally aspirated production car in the world (hwne intorduced), decent gas milage, LEV, and dependable. What would it take to be good? A rolls royce aircraft turbine?!!!

I can see opinions do vary here.

I appreciate the Miata and I think there's room for both to coexist because of the large price difference. I wouldn't be embarassed to be seen in a Miata, talk about snobbery on some of out parts. You should keep in mind the Miata is a more durable recreation of old English and Italian sports cars like the Alpine and 124 Spyder. Viewed against historical vehicles the Miata kicks some serious butt. The sheer volume of Miata production means I'm jealous as heck about their 3rd party support (gee, just how many turbo kits can you find for a Miata, need two hands to count 'em?) (and how about Spec Miata racing? looks like cheap fun to me).

I look at our S2K's as near-supercars and at least a "flagship" vehicle (like the NSX). Both vehicles are on the same mission but the S2K is a touch more extreme (and we pay for it).

I can just see some Super Seven drivers looking down on us is EXACTLY the way some of us look down on the Miata. Like someone else said, go get embarassed by a really good Miata driver at an Auto-X before you go on and on about what pieces of crap they are.

Is it me or are the miata owners alittle more childish? For example mutiple miata owners came to s2ki.com to talk trash about the s2000. Geez we are a car community not specifically to the s2000 read some of the forum categories!

Well as a Miata owner I take offense that we are more childish than you all. I don't know about this Forcefed fella, but the Miata.net boards are generally very civil (like the s2000 thread that started all of this that was shut down immediately.) I am certainly not over here to bash your car, and I don't think any other Miata owners are either (with the exception of Forcefed.) There is a not so great apple in every bunch, but it is unfair to group 10,000 Miata.net members as childish because Forcefed comes over talking about his FMIII.

You can go ahead and bash the Miata all you want, but if you ever pull up next to me at a light, I can guarantee I will smoke each and every one of you (some of the supercharged cars will be interesting though.) I have a 96 Miata with FmIII and all the goodies. Total cost for everything.....21,000 dollars. That's right folks, 21,000 for the opportunity to annihilate:

C5s
Porsches
Supras
RX7s
and of course your Stooks, which actually are the least challenging of them all.

Pretty much everything on the road, and the best part is that you all spent 10s of thousands of dollars more on your cars, all to get smoked.

First of all, i paid 21,000 for everything, car included.

With that cleared up, let me fill you in a little bit....
I have been frequenting this forum, the Miata.net, and the Corvette forums for about 6 months now. I learn a lot, but I never really post (until now.) The only reason I posted here was because I was sick and tired of all of the snide comments uninformed people make about the Miata. I just wanted to clue you in that the Miata can reach performance levels that the s2000 currently cannot as far as modifications go. It is possible to get 400 HP to the rear wheels in a Miata (which is a lighter car anyway) with the right amount of tuning. I am not there yet, but I am well on my way. Some say that the Miata is not a sports car compared to your S2000s. Well your S2000s are not sports cars compared to my Miata. I say this for the same reasons that have been stated before...I have better braking, better handling, better acceleration, etc. etc. I am just here to make believers out of those who constantly belittle Miatas. I have never posted anything like this over at the Corvette forum, probably because this type of flame war never comes up. This forum seems to have some of the Integra/Civic type members, "our cars rule over everyone else."

Arrrrggghhhh! I tried to extinguish this before it got to this point. I am a member of each of the four major roadster boards in my previous post in this thread and the same thing goes on in each. I like to consider myself something of a diplomat, walking in and saying "hey we are all on the same team, right?" oh well, time cures all things. this too shall pass.

Okay, we never even said any bad comments about the miata maybe only 3 people out of what the whole community? And this was only brought up since one of the members of miata board came to us and just flashed the site for some reason i dont know why. On s2ki we usually dont talk trash about cars most of us like domestics, imports, exotics and everything we even appreciate volvos and there is one member who i think has a volvo s40 with more boost then stock. We understand that your miata can be tuned and there are being things worked out for the s2000 right now as we speak. Time will tell the s2000 only has been out for what, 3 or so years? Miata??11 years? I dont know. But please stop the flaming we are car enthusiasts! Lets just get along.

O.K., I think most opinions have now been expressed... and now it's just getting ugly.

Closed for now.
