Check out this video: http://www.kyte.tv/ch/44666/440360

That suction mount looks great - by the looks of it do you think it would mount to the windscreen or too big?

Wonder if it's a specially made Honda mount or if they ordered them...

Oh dude, you need to get this mount. I got mine on ebay, but I think it's the same seller. AWESOME mount! You can mount it pretty much any where on your car because it uses suction cups. I followed link on the video and I found this new mount. It looks better than the one I bought. I wish I had waited...

I whipped up a quick mount today

$1 for a spreader cleat that bends right up to use the windscreen holes, and $1 for enough washers to shim out the bolts. You can reuse the screws to really pinch pennies too

It's weird how I'm one of the only ones having trouble with the Modifry mount.

Camera: Samsung NV24HD

It only weighs... 5 oz. It's only 1/3 of a lb.

I've made sure everything is tightened down REALLY tight. I've secured the top of the glove compartment so it doesn't move... I'm out of ideas. I'm going to purchase an HD camcorder tomorrow and test it out. If it works out, then awesome and I'll just return and buy online, but if not... I'll have to find a different mount. gah!

That's pretty shaky, mine's not like that either. Maybe your local roads are just fubared? Are you on stock suspension?

I use Modifry's regular/original windscreen mount with my Canon point & shoot. It works well for AutoX/track overall, my only complaint is wind noise. I've tried putting tape over the mic opening but it doesn't help at all... in fact it muffs the engine/exhaust sounds.

Is the only solution to get a recorder with an external mic hookup?

btw, if anyone's interested, here's a video at autox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmCBKE0b5nw

[QUOTE=daktruckie99,Feb 15 2009, 10:38 PM] Not sure why that owner had trouble with his Modifry mount.

You're not the only one...I used that Samsung camera and it was soooo shaky I returned it. I've used Canons on the mount with no shakyness at all.

I'm saving up for that new 720p Canon now.

Everyone the simple solution to this is to get a quality camcorder with IS image stabilization built in.

The IS in a camera is made for low frequency shaking from your hand, not from hitting bumps in the road. I've tested 5-6 different camera setups on my Modifry, and all worked better with IS turned off.
