Default interior issues

my '01 spa w/black has just over 12000 miles and last weekend while detailing the interior i noticed a couple of places on the driver's seat, door edge seatback bolster had 2 cracks in the leather...i have been very diligent in applying leather treatment since new....has anyone had a similar problem and if so did honda step up and replace the cover??? this really pisses me off, that a 30k+ vehicle has this kind of problem in less than 18 months of use.

also while on my soapbox about interior issues, what have you guys done to anchor the drivers side floor map in a straight position...ideas appreciated. confused

As for the floor mat (map), do a search. I installed a second anchor on the other side of the mat and that solved that problem. I did a write up on it. As for the seat, I've notice wear with under 10k, when applying conditioner.

Are you positive that the leather has a crack? The leather wears quickly on the S2000's but I've never experienced an issue. I had 39k miles on my '00 Berlina Black with Red leather and never had an issue with it. And my '02 now has 26k miles and has ZERO issues.

As for the extra anchor, handa-accessories sells them for $5.92. Look here!

The leather naturally wrinkles, so be sure you're not confusing a wrinkle with a crack. Many of the wrinkles in leather are covered over in the finishing process, particularly in cheaper leathers like those in the S2000. Over time, they will show through. These are quite normal and nothing to worry about.

A crack is another thing. It's a split in the leather which will develop into a hole over time. If yours is split, I 'd try to get the seats recovered under warrantee.
