Interior Noise

I test drove a used S2K that had that kind of sound. The guy said that they took it to a Honda dealership to do maintenence work on it and he said that the guys said it was normal and was on all S2ks. I didn't buy it so I didn't buy. I think I need to test drive the S2K to see if I like it. The first time I drove it, I absolutely loved it. The second time I drove it I did not like it. So third time may help me determine. But to tell you the truth, I'm a bit turned off after that test drive. It just didn't feel too right.

my passenger seatbelt squeaks against the side occasionally, so I just drive with that seatbelt clicked in the fastened position so that the buckle is not at the side of the seat.
the back of the seat can make noise too when its all the way back against the back too. I just turn up the stereo and drive top down...no more of those noises anyways. Not sure about the "clunk" sound though. Good luck finding that one.

You have got to remember that this car was not designed with the "you can hear a pin drop" drivel in mind that Lexus and other car makers have been marketing ad nuseum to luxury obsessed upper-middle class conspicuous-consumption consumers. If you want a quiet interior, you bought the wrong car, baby. Everything about this car was designed around performance. If you can hear the mechanicals whirring away, the engine screaming, that's deliberate (remember the Lexus folks brag about you not being able to hear the engine,as if they car has none). It's as if they think buyers are afraid to hear the thing that makes the machine go. Too many of us have been conditoned by all of this hype to believe we shouldn't hear a damned thing but the 4-channel stereo.
That having been said, there are some annoying noises like the seatbelt rattle on the passenger side and the belt rubbing on the leather seat on the driver's side. Thankfully, they're easy to fix. But if quiet is your goal, I'd sell the S2000 and look for another car.
