Mystery cable set hiding under the seat may not even be OEM to your car. "Pretty sure" the XM-capable radios didn't arrive until 2006 and the 2006-07 radios have a CD/XM button on the radio.

Time to start your UK Exhaust thread!

HAHAHAHAHA!! give me a chance to catch up would ya!
I very well may return to the stock exhaust but I wont be doing the UK mod if I do.
As far as that connector under the seat it sure looks like its factory!! Part of all the rest of the wiring harness coming up. the green plug is the one I'm talking about.

OH... and over all the hardest part of this project to me anyway, is the unplugging and re-plugging of factory electrical connections!

If you think its not "quieter" enough, you can always wear your motorcycle helmet when you're driving with the top and windows down. Enjoy!

When you take a longer day trip you will appreciate the floor/trans tunnel having your insulation. My tunnel would become quite warm as my right leg will attest. Plus, variations on road composition make some roads louder than others so it helps there too. I do agree the doors provide great bang for the buck and effort.

So yesterday I pulled the "top" of my console off , I did not wish to remove the whole thing seems like quite a project! Anyway, I had a new shifter isolator I wanted to install, the original one was mush. While I had the console top off I added some deadening mat in there along with some of that Thinsulate. I did not do a decibel check but it sure seemed to sound different, next time I take it out I will check.
One of the reasons for doing this is the little, and I do mean little, water bottle holder area seemed to get pretty warm along with my bottle of water so I wanted to see if this will help. With the old shifter isolator shot there was nothing between the shifter area and the bottle holder, a little more driving will let me know if it helped at all.

Considering this was essentially designed from Honda Racing, it's not designed to be quiet. I honestly really enjoy the noise - top up or down. Anytime I have a squeak or rattle I just grin and remind myself that I wanted this haha. Even my wife doesn't complain about it - I told her right from the beginning the car is an experience and designed to be fun when we go somewhere in it. If it's too wet and cold or we want comfy, we take her Pilot.

I highly recommend Modify - the cupholder, the glove box organizer, the dash phone mount.... https://modifry.com/

Well, virtually nobody wants to drive around in an actual race car. Hot, noisy, uncomfortable.

But also, none of us want our S to be a Lexus.

Yet it shouldn't be surprising we aren't all in same spot in that range in between.

For me its about getting rid of the bad race car sounds, and keeping the good. The signal to noise ratio.
