Interior noise mitigation
Stop. Just stop. Stop trying to equivocate wanting it a little quieter to wanting to make it into a Bentley.
People have done it, its not difficult, and it doesn't take away from the cars character. In fact, I'd say it enhances it. The only noises you stop hearing are ones you don't want to hear. White noise, etc. The engine sounds are actually enhanced, as there is improved signal to noise ratio.
If you want to gut your interior and drive a race car on the street, I'm not gonna tell you you bought the wrong car. I'll even offer helpful suggestions if I have any. Your car your choice.

Ok, question here... I've been looking at a bunch of the sound deadening product on amazon.. the B-Quiet, Kilmat, Siless, Canopus and some others... None of them say anything about only partial coverage and all show pics of using the stuff at full coverage on the surfaces, but some of you talk about 25% or so coverage is all that is needed, where did you come up with this amount??
They want to sell more stuff, so they say full coverage.
The 25% comes from a now defunct website (or at least I can't find anymore) that used to sell sound deadening products. Something like SoundDeadeningShowdown.com, but I'm sure I got that nane wrong.
His site also included extensive experimental analysis of techniques used to apply products.
He was focused on damping for high end sound systems. So willing to compromise on stuff we would balk at, like adding a lot of weight and bulk.
His system used damping tiles (dynamat type stuff) at 25%, then a dual layer of decoupling foam/sound blocking matt.
The decoupling foam was a yoga matt like product. The blocking matt was super heavy rubber, like the stuff in a gym floor (but not quite that thick). These layers were applied at 100%, and glued down. This is where the weight and bulk came from, these layers.
Even with his willingness to compromise weight, he only recommended 25% coverage for damping tiles. His kits only included enough material to do that much (he sold car specific kits).
Each of the products fills a different role. When people apply damping tiles at 100%, they're trying to make them do two roles. One they are great at, the other they are almost completely ineffective at. They add a lot of time, expense, and weight, because they don't fully understand how sound damping works, they don't realize its a complex subject and just take vendors word for how to apply.

Regarding the Bentley tirade, I'm actually not sure who that is directed at, except to say at whoever keeps saying comments to effect of you bought wrong car if you want it super quiet.
I use the phone app to read the forum, and for some reason it very often puts the comments people make under different users names. If I refresh then check, refresh then recheck, over and over, it sometimes eventually corrects things (but then often mixes up something else).
Its super frustrating. I rarely quote people because of this, as when it puts comments under wrong name, that function is disabled.
It happened on my old phone, and still happens on my new one.
I only keep using app because it at least lets me go directly to first unread comment.
I can tell when its done this mixing up because it often clips comment mid sentence. Or I realize I already read that same comment farther up, so I know this time its in wrong place. Sometimes if I'm not sure I'll see if it'll let me choose quote or reply, as it only allows those if comment is in correct place.

And to those saying I should have bought something else just shows there lack of couth or something.. Just trolls..
Here is an S that used the Sound Deadener Showdown kit: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-in...eview-1186089/
The website is dead now, but he had tons of useful information about how to quiet a vehicle - wish it were still around.

It has the added benefit of being removable (some are so sticky they require dry ice to remove). I recently removed some of it from behind the seats and on the bulkhead when I installed a roll bar. I was pleasantly surprised that it came off without scraping.
