Thumbs up Interior SoftTop Damage

Hey guys, I read on here once before how to fix the two rub marks on the soft top, over the driver and pass. heads. I saw that a guy had put a patch on it, but I failed to read his comments. I can't seem to find the forum again either.

What do you use to patch the holes up? Vinyl Sealant was recommended to me last year, and it's worked out great, until now. It's the shape of a thimble now, and it's rock hard. I'd like to use a fabric type of patch, but the only thing that comes to mind is the 'iron' on type of patches. There's no way I'm taking an iron to my top though.

Any suggestions? Or remedies?

I took my car top a local upholstery shop. They took some spray adhesive and scraps of vinyl and I had them reinforce the usual wear points in my top. Been a year now and it's held up fine.

I went to Michaels and bought adhesive backed felt, its been doing fine but there's still some wear marks in it. I might put a second layer over it just for peace of mind.

Hey Prelude Guy, great idea man! I think that's what I saw originally, possibly from you. Anyhow, I'm headed out to the craft store, thanks for the input guys!
