its home
i just brought home my 2001 s2k today. i got it will 60,201 miles for 11.2k. i think it was an ok deal. its sucks though cuse i was driving it around in a shopping center trying to feel out the clutch and get used to how it drives. i stalled it and i would not start. then i looked it the book and it said the alarm shut off the gas to the motor because it wasnt reading the key. so i call a local honda dealer and they tell me i have to come in and get the car and keys reprogramed. so im pissed. then i tow it there try it again and realized it was just the ****ing battery i was so angy when it would not start the first time in the lot i didnt even think of it.but anyway tommorow i am getting a new battery an maybe alternator idk yet. so i will be on the road crusng around soon. also one question when i let my dad drive it he said he was fealing a vibration from the wheel and in the shifter when letting off the gas is this just the "noise" the car makes. thanks
ehhh,,, sounds like you aren't having the smoothest transition to an S2000.
but let's hope that all passes soon enough so you can enjoy the car.
as far as noises... there are a lot of normal noises that can make the unaccustomed driver paranoid. but there's never a way to know for sure, unless you compare with another S2K owner.
anyway, welcome to the family.

thanks i kinda had a feeling it was normal because as i have been reading it is a nosiy car. but thanks and yes i am going to be very very happy when i can drive it on road which should be soon hopefully.
You did get a good deal. As for noises. There are a lot of noises and vibrations that kind of go with the car. You can meet up with otherlocal members and comfirm this by riding in somone elses car. Welcome to the forum.-Ian
Welcome, and may I say that's a killer deal.
I'm sorry to hear about the troubles after acquiring the new S2k but hopefully you will be able to laugh at them later.
The vibrations are normal, it kind of caught me off guard as well cause you just don't expect that with a Honda. You're going to hear a buzz at around 3k when you let off the gas, this is known as clutch buzz.
The S2k is a different beast, in my opinion it's pretty rough below 4k, but it's at its smoothest when you go past 6k.
Good luck learning the clutch. After a couple of weeks i'm still not sure how to get a quick start...then again it may not be possible since the car probably makes very little torque down low.
