Is there even a difference between the usdm and jdm s2000s beside the headlights and side marker lights? I know the engine pumps out a little bit more horsepower, but aesthetically is there a difference?

JDM doesn't have windshield tape like the US version. Also side markers are clear instead of yellow.

I personally don't care of something is JDM or not. It just happens that a lot of nice parts are from japan, especially because there's such a small market for s2000 aftermarket parts in the US.

I bought a Bride seat because it fit perfectly in my car. I wish it wasn't Japanese because I had to wait 6 weeks for it.

im a jdm whore the problem i just cant justify to buy parts thats over 2-3g's

for example i got my hood from seibon mg STYLE or REPLICA.. but for 400 bucks its worth it imo

now if you get the bling bling REAL MUGEN.... damn close to 3k i think i just cant justify for me to buy a hood that doesnt do jack shit..... POWER WISE

so im stock with seibon mg style oh well

but honestly if i have the cash to just throw away like that, shoot ill buy em all........

i don't mind jdm whores but i mind when they yell such quotes as "that is so jdm bling"... people like that kinda piss me off... they kinda made japanese stuff ghetto by saying that i think. Maybe just me. I'd say buy it because u like it, not because of where it is manufactured.

Sorry for being OT but is that the Mugen front lip? Got any better pictures of it? Does it scrape more than the OEM lip?
Yes and Yes . It does sit lower than the Oem and I have scraped it way more than I ever did the OEM lip. I can PM you other pics if you like. I dont want to take the thread further off topic

A lot of the pieces from japan are not really "bling" because they actually serve a purpose.. I, myself, am not a JDM whore, as i run KW's and Comptech parts. as for JDM, much of it is function over form and the fact that is just so happens to come from Japan is not coincidence. Japan has always been known as a land of tuners and automotive development. A lot of the parts from Japan are expensive because you get what you pay for. I don't mind spending a little more to get a "JDM" piece because i know that the Japanese marketplace for tuner parts is well known and proven time and time again to have very good craftsmanship. Look at it this way, the fastest S2000's are where? Japan (atleast the ones built for handling). and doesn't everyone want their S2000 to be fast? I can understand what you are saying about the bling side where you want your car to look JDM with the headlights and sidemarkers and stuff, hey I did it on my car. but the reasoning behind doing so was not so i can say its JDM, i believe that the JDM spec headlights and sidemarkers look a lot better than the amber on a sebring silver. However, if i had a berlina, i would keep the ambers because it would match better than cleared. i guess it all comes down to personal preference in automotive styling for "bling" parts.. but as far as intakes, headers, or whatever, I go with JDM because it's quality parts, not because "its from japan"

Sorry but you are wrong. I don't want JDM parts but I most certainly can afford JDM parts. I think (you put this before a sentence to show that it is not a fact) that people who buy JDM parts are either:
1: like the label or the "hype"
2: want a theme such as - all parts are from Japan
3: Bragging rights
4: Enjoy how it affects the car - handling, speed, and aesthetics

I'm not trying to be a dick, but the way you put it makes people that don't go the JDM route look either poor or tacky.

Back on topic:
I don't feel that the JDM route is necessarily the perfect route for any one thing. I feel that you can get the same quality from certain shops in the U.S.A.. It also depends on what you are going for. Ex. quarter mile times with a turbo set-up: Inline pro is pretty damn good bang for the buck and they reside about 30 minutes from my house in VA.

The attitude of JDMr's:
I don't mind at all that people like JDM things but it does bother me when people who only buy jdm parts think that they are superior. The "JDM tyte bL1nG y0" people bother me to no end. Be passionate, not annoying about what you enjoy.

Most of us support JDM companies because they are the ones doing the r&d and racing the S2000. Most S2 specialists are from Japan. I also prefer the style for the aerokits and such. Check my mods- I support USDM too. Comptech r.i.p.

Some of that great R&D leaves a lot to be desired.

Comptech is alive and well.
