I like to say it's just a honda. I don't see why people get mad about it. The thing is...it bothers people that have image problems. I mean the s2000 is a great car. Drive the bmw z4, the nissan 350z and you will know why you bought this car over them. I had the same image problem and didn't want to go back down to "just a honda", but after driving this car, i love it because it's just a honda...epic reliability, superb gas mileage for a car in this class and looks beautiful to boot.
When I bought this car, I was looking at buying 2004 Bmw M3, a 2003-2005 Porsche 911 C4S, Mercedes Benz C300, 2004 Volkswagen Touareg, 2004 Porsche Cayenne and look what came out on top. Just a honda...

people are dumb and not everyone is a car/s2000 enthusiast.
i think you guys can thank the POS ricer civics and integras that ruined everything in the 90's and even now. and everyone hates ricers because of their attitude thinking they're the fastest best drivers on earth. so i guess that's why people can associate most "sporty looking" hondas as just another honda or ricer.
personally i love the s2000. it is my favorite car. but that's about it...i don't feel that way about any other honda. but honda/acuras makes amazing cars and i think it's the only car maker i would pick if i had to buy a car in the future. but besides being one of the most reliable car maker in the world for a good price i don't think it really has the prestige that the luxury cars have. even acuras aren't considered as classy as like bmw and benz. so with that said i can understand how most people will see the car as just "another honda". i think if the car came out as an acura maybe it would've been better but to me it makes no difference. just ignore them fools and enjoy ur car.

If you really care about what others think. Consider 99% of the people in everyday life have no clue what our cars are and interpret them to be rare or super cool. So who the "F" cares about the less than 1% of the population who has something negetavie( and usually untrue) to say about S2Ks. Hopefully this helped those who feel the need to be accepted by everyone

With the exception of Toyota, Honda owns (not literally) all of the Japanese automakers, in financial success and auto sports. Tell them that Honda's involved in more racing venues than any company on earth. Honda is the largest engine maker in the world too. And just show them these pictures and they'll shut up:
