If you really think any of those intakes are significantly different from one another, you're sorely mistaken.

Get the appropriate diameter, and a good filter. And be done with it.

Intake is just an intake.

i just switched to k&n drop in filter. i noticed better throttle response and the car was peppier with more throttle. also noticed about 1.5-2 mpg gains. for 55$ i think it was probably the best bang for buck "mod" i got for my stock car. not worth getting the intake for that much more since increase in power would be very insignificant.

By itself, yeah, it's not going to feel any faster. It'll sound different.

With the proper parts package, the intake will help the motor develop more power.

do you have to cut anything to install the k&n intake?

I've been thinking about getting a K&N intake but at the same time, I will eventually FI my S (unsure when, though), so the intake will be pointless.

just get a k&n and call it a day. it'll pay itself over in the long run as well. if you plan on doing additional exhaust mods, testpipe, catback, and/or header than you will probably see a benefit. but keep in mind that with all those mods the power gains will be modest.
