I'm a new owner in Lenexa. While I don't quite fit the "30-ish" profile mentioned above (40 last year, ouch), I'd be interested in getting together if we can get something organized.

KaCee - your comments about Jay Wolfe got me wondering where I should take my S2K for service. JW wrecked my Accord in their parking lot when I had it in for its first oil change (backed another car into it). They paid to fix it (interestingly, not in their own body shop), but would not give me any other compensation. Since I'm coming up on my first S2K service interval, I'm curious where others are getting their cars serviced in the KC area. I bought my car at Stadium (they actually had a used one I could test drive before buying the new one), and came away with a positive impression of them, but would like to hear of others experences with the various dealers around town.

DBL....I'm doing my own maintenance....I don't trust the dealer shops. It's really rather easy. Let me know if you need any help.

Kind of like that old saying:

you can take the kid out of Wichita, but you can't take the Wichita out of the kid...counts in my book....You wanna come to the midwest for a meet?

dblb0gey: The service manager at O'Neill's on Metcalf is fantastically friendly and helpful and knowledgable(sp?). I got my '98 CRV there. I don't know how they treat S2K's though. Also I found the perfect house in Lenexa(near 87th and Pflumm). My plan is to get the house then get the S2K!!!

KaCee: thanks so much for the referral. It will be a month or two before I can order the car; but I will do it! I looked at a 2001 ITR at Jay Wolfe Acura about a year ago. I asked the salesman what the little round plastic item near the turn-signal stalk was; he said it was a subwoofer. See ya! A few months later my girlfriend wanted a CRV so we went to Jay Wolfe Honda and the same doofus helped us there! See ya! The whole sales staff there was pretty trashy.

Jay wolfe experience #1...yelled at from across the showroom floor for popping the hood on a s2k...told the guy to kiss my a$$ and bought one the next day from Chezik....I live close to jay wolfe and have taken my car in several times (unfortunately) for warranty repairs....I am sick and tired of them blaming everthing on me replacing the Headunit....basically they just don't know how to service the car. That 1-2 grind is just your friggin imagination....there is nothing wrong with the car....DUH!!!

I am actually taking mine to O'neill in 2 weeks to have a American Honda Field Representative take a look at my SRS light problem...this is fix #4....11mos ownership, 3K miles....haven't even made it to my first service yet. Only good thing about Jay Wolfe....they screwed it up so many times, I may meet lemon law requirements after this next fix.....can you say new s2k!!!! I'm thinking a glass rear window will be awfully nice for that fall cruise to the Ozarks!

Prolene: Are you a Jayhawk?

I'm a Jayhawk (class of '95); I couldn't tell by your question to Prolene if you're for or against KU...

I'm going to get a Jayhawk license plate for the S2K.

When you go to O'Neill's, talk to Dave MacDougall...I just found his card. His official title is "service consultant."

Prolene, if you graduated med school in 1978, I don't think you were there for my delivery in 1949!

90integraGS - I live at 87th and Pflumm (yard backs up to Candlelight school). We may soon be neighbors. The good news for you is that the neighborhood is now pretty much familiar with the s2ki "rules of ownership" (lots of washings, a zillion coats of Zaino, using a leaf blower and microfiber towels to dry the car, etc.). When you start doing these things they'll probably give you alot less grief than I catch.

I would agree on O'Neill Service Dept. (helpful & friendly), but wondered how many S2K's they see.

I bought my car at Stadium and had a great sales guy (very knowledgeable, zero pressure). Let me know if you want a name.

BTW, Rock Chalk, class of '84.

S2KFanatic - thanks for the self-service help offer. I have considered doing this and may be in touch.
