Keeping Mice out
Is there a Maine Coon + S2000 link? Here's mine, TC:

I have had good luck killing mice in our basement with the green poison chunks as posted above. They died and did not smell afterward. I tried humanely trapping them and carrying them a few blocks away, but they always came back. I suppose I could also have just let TC into the basement, but picking up dead mice is bad enough, I didn't want to clean up dead, disemboweled mice.

NOW>>>>I use good old mouse traps with Skippy Crunchy peanut butter...it does the job.
Right after I got my S2000 new in 2005, I had my main wiring harness chewed up pretty good by mice. They damaged the master cylinder wiring as well. They did go up in the air intake as well. Got it fixed for $50...the deductible on my comp claim. The total claim was $1,600..ouch! It doesn't take long fot the critters to set up shop. I used Dcon pellets and they had moved them into my air intake and made a nest right below the master cylinder.
