Default Keeping my stook safe!

OK well, I just bought my first house... It's a three bedroom, two bath, with a pool and really is in great shape. Only one problem with the whole place. I live in Phoenix so not a lot of people build garages. So instead I have a carport which is basically a garage with two walls missing and the garage door. So it is protected from the elements like ran but, not from jelous assholes. I am woried about someone coming into the carport and stealing the car or just screwing with it. I am in a pretty nice neighborhood but, my parents live in Paradise Valley which is the nicest neighboorhood in all of Phoenix and they have had there car stollen and car's broken into 4 times now so no matter what neighboorhood you are in down here you are at risk. I am planning on putting the two walls and a door on the carport in the coming months when money permits but, until them I am looking at some crative ideas to keep my car as safe as possible. Car cover, alarm, etc...what do you think would help and what is just a waste of time to buy...thanks for the help guys!

A lot of housea in the Atlanta area also have car ports. Since the roof and at least one of the walls are already there, I have known quite a few people that have had the walls and doors added for not too silly of a price.
If you don't turn it into a garage, at least install a couple of motion detector lights, that way when anyone comes close at night at least there will be a lot of light.

I learned the hard way (by getting my GS-R) stolen that you really can't do much. Eventually someone who wants to harm your car will get it. However, to deter the novice vandal, you can try putting some cheaper walls up and layer your car with theft deterents like the Club, alarm system, etc ... but in the end you can only count on your insurance company, so get a low deductible and get full coverage on that baby if you haven't already. I feel your pain cuz sometimes I just want to sleep in my S2K with a shotgun and kill whoever comes too close to it during the night. Anyhow, my $.02.
