After 2 1/2 years I had to switch to the second remote -- I'd nearly been forced to open the door with the key (which would have set off the OEM alarm). I walked around the car several times, holding the remote against the windows and hitting "unlock" with no success ...eventually lucked out though and got in. Phew!

Reminds me - I still haven't replaced the battery...

 

Going on 2.5 years (next month).........Have used only one remote unit the entire time.......Like you Wanabe, use it for everything....And........It still works fine

Have noticed however, that it does occasionally "activate" things when it is in my pocket and the car is close by which makes me think it may occasionally be depressed (not the Prozak thing) when in our pockets.

Just a thought.
