Default Keyless Remote - How to program

Problem - I bought a used s2000 (2001) and it didn't come with the keyless remotes....since its "standard equipment" I assume they are just being idiots and didn't give me the remotes, but the rest of the system should be installed. I have remotes from my 2003 civic ....looks like the only difference is the trunk open button...which I dont care about. ANYWAYS does anyone know if the remotes should be compatible? If so does anyone know how to program one? I found some instructions on another site, but definately did not work.

Thanks.

Where would I find the modules inside the car to verify that those exist?

Wow, I'd probably just go aftermarket. You can get an alarm with keyless entry.
