Spring is here and summer is around the conner. Our Stook will be working full time pretty soon, since the weather is getting better and better everyday. More driving means more encounters with other moving object. As you encounter more *objects*, there will be some with a mentality of *my object is faster than your*. Some members can deal with that, some can't. So for the *can't* members, there will likely be a little *I'll prove you wrong*.

There are members on the board that are *religiously* opposed to Street Racing, no matter what the conditions are. Some members like it, some doesn't mind. Every time there is a * S2K Vs. ????* topic, you're sure to gets negative responses. And many times, it will turn in to a *FLAMES*. I'm sure there are many members with numerous encounters on the street, but are discouraged to post their experiences due to the negatives responses.

So what I'm proposing to the S2000online administrators and our 2000+(growing) members is to start a new forum for the only purpose of *S2000 vs....* . This forum will let members to post their experiences/encounters on the street without getting unnecessary flames. The benefits of this forum? 1- Avoid *flames* between members who are against street racing. I think it's important for all the board members to have a good relationship with each others since we are expanding rapidly. Good relationship will separate this board from many other HONDA boards. 2- The main forum *Car Talks* is getting more and more congested every day. Threads are moving so quick that many of us could not keep up. This new forum will help some of that problem, since it'll relieve some of the threads. 3- I feel that the *Racing and Competition* forum should be use for AutoX and other organized road race. Well, that's what most of the threads are about in that forum. 4- You can express your feelings, tell your stories, without the fear of getting *flames*, because it's the right place for you to post.

No! adding this forum will not turn this board in to a civic board. WHY? I'm sure that MOST of our members are WELL educated individual. And for that reason alone, it should separate us light years away from others board. Please don't think that this forum is for the immature/young/childish ect...So don't start judging.

I hope that all of the reading didn't put you to sleep. This is something I really thing this board should consider.
Any comments, feedback, opinions, and suggestions are welcome.

I'd rather leave the kill stories to: KillStories.net on Off-Topic.net or Kill Stories forum on Honda-Acura.net.

Educated or not - I do not believe it would be a good thing to spread encouragement in street racing in any forum. It happens, but I wouldn't want to promote it in any intangible way.

/my two cents

This forum has a great feel to it, and I think that it is partly due to not openly promoting street racing. If you read other boards, they are full of wack chumps telling stories about races that never happened in cars they dont own. If you want to find some action, check out the Houstooks. Its a good thing I dont live in Houston, or Id be sending posts to s2ki from the pokey. Those boys are wild. I have felt froggy lately in FL but got a ride in an associates 93 RX7 tt yesterday....400+ horsepower, 11s in the quarter, looks totally stock. No aftermarket wheels....nothin. Made the vtec surge feel like greasy kids stuff.
I definately look at RX7s differently now.

Don't call it "kill" stories. Overblown, although of course many of you on this board will argue it is an accurate word for street racing episodes.

I'd love to see one on here, but keep it real, everybody!

I don't want to promote juvinile behaviour, and the members that follow it. There are only a handful of these stories posted and those that act like idiots are going to wish they hadn't. The vast majority of members are safe and courtious drivers. Sure we ignore the odd speed limit sign now and then and challenge the odd car to an off-the-line duel from time to time.

There are other boards that specialize in Darwin Award contestants and I'd like to keep it that way. I do like to know what you think and I've been known to change my mind.

I'm agreeing with you that no one on this board want/like to promote street racing. But promote it or not, there are members that will do it. Lots of other boards are full of wack, *TRUE*. But this is not other boards, and I'm fully confidence in our members to bring out great discussions for the proposed forum.

SpaceNeedle:
I definitely don't want a KILL forum. The name itself sounds ridiculous. I'm sure we can name it differently. *ENCOUNTERS*,*STOOK Vs. ???*. I can't think of many right now, but I'm sure other members will come up with better names.

Cthree:

This forum is in no way promoting that kind of behavior. The main point for this forum is to have a place to post without offending other members.

Sure we ignore the odd speed limit sign now and then and challenge the odd car to an off-the-line duel from time to time.

I'm sure that most so call *street races* doesn't happen instinctually. NOT a lot or(NONE) of members will take their S out, driving around, looking for races on the street. If they did went out purposely for races. It's most likely to be an organized group of friends, and the race usually took place at a NON-residential areas, at a back of a factory, corn fields, deserted roads, ect...

There are other boards that specialize in Darwin Award contestants and I'd like to keep it that way.

I know our club is growing. Members are in the 2000+. But please, do not point our members to other boards. To most of us, this is OUR place, our board, this is where we post, talks, exchange infos, and share experiences (most of us own the same car).

Like I stated earlier. This is a proposal, NOT a personal needs. I will NOT be mad/sad if this proposal is rejected (no reason to). And I'm sure NO board members will leave this board due to this reason. This is a suggestion for the S2000online community and its members.
Creating a forum is not a permanent thing. We could always try it. If the forum is out of controls, or in anyway effected our club in a bad sense, you could always close it down.
Sorry for quoting each of you. This is nothing personal. I just wanted to be directly stating my opinions at the issues. And to help other members to clearly understand the discussion.

As it currently stands, we have a reputation among the online auto community for having a very mature (and I don't mean old) membership that tends to hold itself to a higher standard than some of the other similar watering holes on the net.

In fact, the only time I have seen this site denigrated is when topics like "I killed my first SS tonigt" show up."

I for one would not like to see that reputation permenantly tarnished. Since it has already been shown that a very large percentage of our community does not condone, nor participate in, street racing it would be wise not add this forum to placate those who can fulfill the need to proclaim their "kills" in many other forums.

Is this like something you want to see immediately or can we discuss it a bit? I don't want to make a snap decision yes or no. I would like to get more feedback.
