It would probably be tough to find a pair of jeans that didn't have one.

Right hand front pocket, it's the small one that opens just under the belt line. It was originally designed to hold a fob watch, but hardly anyone uses them anymore.

The only problem you may have using that pocket is that it is small and the knife may bite into your thigh when you sit.

Go to Home Depot and buy a can of liquid electrical tape. This is a liquid rubber that is used to coat tool handles: Very durable, and soft. Clean the knife clip with acetone (nail polish remover) to get all grease/oils off it. Tape the knife off and put a couple of coatings of the liquid rubber on the OUTSIDE of the clip only. This should allow it to still slide onto your pants, but present a soft surface to your wheel. Don't know how long this will last, but you can always apply more as needed.

Check with the laws of your state and see if you are allowed to carry a boot type knife concealed that has a sheeth(sp) that you could put around your ankle.

Or just put your knife in your pocket all together.

This is actually the first thing that came to my mind after reading this thread.

I, too, was surprised that it took almost a whole page of posts for someone to mention this idea!!!

You're not the only only one, Jasonn, that thinks outside the box.

I put a knick in the steering wheel of my car just with a leather jacket that zips. the wheel is really close. I'll be having it fixed when the weather gets warmer. As far as the knife goes..He's my suggestion. I clip the knife in my pants where an inside thepants holster would sit at about 1 o'clock. It frees up my right pocket for my pocket holster and I just move it to the left when I'm carrying two guns(one in the 1 spot)

or, if all else fails, try a nice leather cover for the steering wheel--you can change it for another when it gets scratched enough and the actual steering wheel stays nice

OP, try putting it either on your belt or waist line of the jeans. Hopefully your shirt/jacket will over it up.

I know exactly what you mean though, I dropped my car off to get some new rubber installed, and when I picked it up the dumbass mechanic left a nice 4" scratch on the front bottom of the steering wheel... I was heartbroken.

Just ignore all those hicks telling you just to carry a gun. You clearly stated that you do not plan on and have never used the knife for self defense... just as a handy tool. If I was carrying a knife to use for self defense, it sure as heck wouldn't fit in the front pocket of my jeans.

I am left handed so I wear my watch on my right wrist. Not long after getting the car I noticed some of the paint on the plastic just behind the shifter chipping. Not bad but I can see it. i finally figured out it is my watch hitting. So now when I get in the car I take my watch off and put it the cup holder.
