Rick, Paulie, aka The Self-Anointed S2000 Style Arbiters

You asked for my thoughts . . . I think both of you are complete pompous fvcking a$$es.

I can think of nothing more 'in-your-face' than posting pics of other people's cars, tearing them to shreds and in the next paragraph wonder what has happened to the board. To quote "It comes in all forms

I don't mind the rice. Rice is cool. Let rice live. I don't like rice, so I don't do it. As long as it's not on your car, who cares? If every S2000 in existance is riced out except yours, doesn't that make yours more valuable and rare? Let them rice all the S2000's out they want. In the end, the purist will win! The price value of a non-riced S will sky rocket.

By the way, Honda should do what Nissan did with the Z. Stop making it for about 6 or 7 years, then bring it back totally different and new.

As an aside, it'll be interesting to see whether the pink Veilside-kitted S2k in 2F2F affects sales of that particular bodykit.

Honda's are the Ford's & Chevy's of my generation. When I was young it was chopped, channeled, moon disc's, etc. . . No one cared if the '55 or '57 Chevy was going to become a classic. Or, an XKE. So, live and let live. For me personally, I think all the kit's and mods take away from the car's wonderful timeless classic clean lines. The first time I saw Hyper Rev Vol. 46, some 200 pages of Japanese mod's, all I could think was "Why"? But, I had the same reaction when I saw pictures of two tone gearshift boot.

As to your second point. I completely agree there's been an increase of in-your-face stuff as you like to call it. Personally, I like to see it stop. I think this is a great site but I doubt if adding smilies like this do much to improve things. I raised three kids, someone else can police the ones on this site.

The topic clearly hit some nerves.

Anyone else wondering how this post might affect sales of Rick's Signature Accessories going forward?

Here is a post that someone asked me to post anonymously. You are amazing Rick. I wish I had never bought your products. Your lack of respect for the opinions of others and to people my age is disgusting and contributes heavily to the downturn of the board. How was my english? Did I mispell anything? Here you go, this individual feels the same way.

"WOW, (EYES WIDE OPEN)

I understand that your intentions might have been to stimulate an open
discussion, which obviously you did. BUTT.........

Seeing the outcry you have caused amongst board members (many of whom
considered you an associate or friends) I think a public apology might be in
order! Why not save some face, AND POSSIBLY QUITE A FEW CUSTOMERS!

EDIT YOUR ORIGINAL POST NOW!!

Lets not forget, call it what you want but this really is a CLOSED
community. I say that because only people that have a love for the S2000
have any point in coming here. Did you forget when you made your rude post
that ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE YOUR CUSTOMER BASE? As a business owner myself, I
cant comprehend your lack of tact????

Why couldn't you just say something like "IMO think these mods are terrible
but to each his own." "I am just starting this thread to see how everyone
else feels about these type of mods." (paraphrasing what you should have
said!) To go off on your elitist soapbox just makes you look worse! I quote
"these perverted acts of desecration" Have you looked at your car lately
with your mini van foglights????

I am not even going to address what my feelings for these type of
modifications are. You know why? Because my opinion on what someone else
does to there car simply DOESNT MATTER! I know a lot of people think I am
nuts for what I have done to my car, but who gives a rats ass! Its my car
and I mod if I want to!

The point that a few people have made about what if someone else had started
this thread. Very true. Then I guess then it would be like your second
point and I quote "A second concern is the growing crudeness of posts on
this board, ..........It comes in all forms
