launching at altitude?
last night, i was just cruising around in the s2k with a friend of mine. i tried several high-rpm drops (when no one was looking) but had major troubles getting ANY wheelspin, although i got plenty-o-fried-clutch smell.
i dropped at 6k - no love, 7k - no love, and even 8k - almost no love. i did not try to "feather" the clutch...just rev'ed and sidestepped while flooring the gas.
i'm wondering if the problem was the lack of O2 up here, or maybe it was the ambient temp (~80 F) retarding the engine timing. either way, the car was sadly torque-less last night. my question is: does anyone else who lives above 5000 feet have this probelm or does my car just have issues?
"i love the smell of burning clutch in the evening! smells like...victory!" not.

We recently raced at Wendover, UT which I believe is 6000ft. of elevation. (might be 4000). We were easliy able to launch in our ProSolo format with sticky Hooiser tires. I think we ended up at 6500rpm. The key is slamming your right foot to the floor as you pop the clutch. That way the tires get spinning easier. Try it some more... you'll get the hang of it!
