well....last time and it was my first time to go drag....i just wanted to learn the car because i only had this car for few months....well...i have heard from people that our car when launch, we have to rev very high....so when launch, we would go just right before vtec engage....but also i have heard people that rev. till 3k and launch and they said they had very good results, too. for me, last time i tried both, but i personally think rev higher is better. My best launching at that time was at 5700-5800....and it was a little low after i dropped the clutch. the tires will spin a little, but let it spin. after that, it will lead you to the vtec range right away. so probably you want to try to launch at 6k and drop your clutch...thats just my opinion...and im still learning the car

Why do you want to beat on your car like that? The S2000 isn't designed to take that kind of abuse.

If you really need to know how to launch use the search function. You'll find a lot of info on it.

well....the reason that i wanted to go drag was not abusing the car....cz i know s2000 is not design for dragging....for learning the car, it is helpful to read articles online, but i think it would be more helpful to learn it with doing it....and experiencing it....

The pinheads who drag race these cars report that 6500 is the sweet spot for the clutch dump.

and if you do it incorrectly, you might be stuck with a 1500 dollar new differential bill

I wouldn't suggest going out and just randomly launching your car to "learn" and experience it...

...and once you do search you'll find a lot of info and you'll be left with 6 grand and dump the clutch is how you launch this car.

The wheels spin which take the abuse from the drive train... you'r abusing your tires which are cheap compared to everything else involved. Wisconsin S2K or something like that wrote a book on it and has vids on you tube with him launching. He claims to have done this several times a day for years with no breakage.

I autocross on R-compound tires. It varies with track conditions, but generally, I launch between 6500-7500 with a clutch dump. I've launched the car close to 250 times with this technique. Haven't had a problem yet. (Knocks on wood!) I do have a spare diff and axles in the garage though.
