Default Leather Console Cover

Can someone who has Rick's Leather Console Cover answer a quick question for me. Does Rick's piece simply fit over the stock carpeted one or does it replace it? Also, the stock one is held in place by a couple of clips, right, and Rick's by some adhesive, how does the adhesive hold up? Just wondering about the install and how the finished product looks. I'm probably going to order one really soon. Thanks...

the leather piece just goes on top of the carpet. it's pretty easy to install and the result is awesome... i just sold my blk/blk leather and is getting the perforated one, hopefully soon if rick has it in stock. also, the double sided tape holds up really well and believe me you won't be disappointed.

I was a little concerned about the tape too, so it used the plastic fasteners as well. I've still got a nice tight fit with no wrinkles after 6 months. It probably would have been OK with just the tape, but I tend to over do it.

notwithstanding personal installation techniques (tape, clips etc.) - it is the FIRST item that should be replaced on the car. It is an absolutely MUST. and what can you say about the quality and fit - SECOND TO NONE.

i have the black perf and it looks like it came from the factory....

man, i wish rick's made leather pull-on/zip-on seat covers for the seats - the factory leather is somewhat lacking - i'd be soooo all over that!!!!

rick,

"if you build it, they will come"

regards,

nimesh

I also recenttly used the plastic fasteners to tighten the fit; worked great!
Love the red leather console. It really adds to the look of the car.

My red interior, of course, had red fasteners. I installed a black perf. cover, so I used some black fasteners. Pop out the old plugs by prying them with a flat tip screwdriver. Install the new plastic plugs last step. Locate the holes in the tunnel, you can feel them through the leather cover. Make a small 1/4" X in the cover at each hole location with a razor blade and push the plug through the X, and the carpet, and into the hole in the tunnel.

Again, this is just an extra measure which I thought would maintain a tight fit.
