Lesson Learned
^^^over the long term yes.
you're good there too if you double clutch because these bring the syncros up to speed as well.
I've always wondered:
Skip shifting on the up-shift has potential to do damage, but what about if double-clutched? The tranny will be at the same speed as the engine RPMs. Obviously, it would be annoying to have to wait for your RPMs to drop to a suitable level after WOT through 2nd, but that is an extreme example. A more realistic one would be WOT through maybe 4th and then let the RPMs drop about 2k and shift into 6th?
Skip shifting on the down shift how does this not have the possibility to do damage but up shifting does? I assume it has less possibility to do damage because it is extremely common to down shift for the boost of speed/fun/what have you. Personally when I down shift from 6th I always double clutch, but not on any other gear.
All the aforementioned obviously rev-matching
Also, I've never down shifted 6th to 2nd, I'm worried I'd break something from the sudden surge. The most I've done is 6th to 3rd cruising at about 60-70 mph

Skip shifting is 100% possible, all the tools you need to do it are at the disposal of both of your feet and an Arm. You need to get the revs to match, if you Redline 1-2 and shift 2nd into neutral and wait for the RPM's to come down to ~3000 sixth will slot in like you were shifting into it from 5th. You can also keep the clutch down, shift through 3-4-5 and clutch up in 6th, this will also allow the time for the RPM's to come down to allow the "skip" into 6th. The stock S2000 shifter and transmission are in few words incredible, especially considering they weigh all of 85lbs.
