today my build took a change... these two guys.. Tom and his cousin Marco.. stopped on down to see my progress.. and took over... well... bout 3 hours later.. I have a running S2000... the junkyard motor came back to life about the 3rd crank.. has some sorting out still.. but.. all in all.. i'm done...
was cool to hear that I had done a good job.. they said it was impressive for a old fart.. then they told me to rest my old bones.. and those guys took over.. ah man I am so happy to see this junkyard engine fire up.. the Tune.. to Follow...

I finished up the last pieces, checked over as much as I could think.. put wheels on and lowered to the ground.. it was raining out so I wasn't planning on going far.. around the block would be fine.. see how it feels... turned the key, hit the start, fired right up.. cycled through the gearbox and into reverse.. and idled out.... it purrs.. I missed driving this car... I let it get to 3 bars.. idled around the neighborhood.. it felt good...
motor, came in an out, bout 5 times, only one out for the old engine.. on to an engine stand for it now...
trans came out 1 1/2 times total.. was fun..
I hadn't worked on a car to much level since about 1990.. opened a computer store in 1991.. all my cars.. a few wires and a handful a bolts and you were done... I spent most my time reading Billman old posts an calling LHT if I was in a hurry working on it... got pointed in the right direction though by Willie Gee and Ben...
I had sold most all my tools so many years ago.. well, I now own nearly an entire shops worth.. but.. hey, I intend to keep this car, pick up another... already have a spare engine to do a build on..
all in all.. it was worth it...
disregard the cost of the tools.. I got up and running under 2,400 bucks.. as well as included other areas the original bid to repair the engine knock was guesstimated to be, did not include...

I wouldn't call it a good job.. I'd call it a learning curve... told me i'm older.. bones an muscles weren't ready for this.. ok.. sorta knew that.. found out this car isn't like my old car experiences, in where as I feel it's going well.. I have already had 3 major, I did that wrong.. fix that.. oh.. that's not good... fix that.. and.. the never fails.. wonder what that is, and fix that.. so... my car days were useful as the " I know one thing or another".. but this car, has so many more electrical connectors an sensors.. well, and plumbing.. two of my MG's didn't even have heaters.. anyway, it's been a sorting out process.. but, it is progressing rather then digressing.. takes one step then another..
always liked the look of removing that water / air / breather metal junction, and I saw in a write up on a pwjdm intake removing the junction and relocating the hoses.. looked like fun...
