Actually, HyperRev does have opinions and experiences with parts posted, it's just that it's in Japanese (near the back under SCN network, their version of s2ki). It's not that extensive though. I think this is a great idea. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

I don't have a scanner, but can't someone just scan the HyperRev catalog?

I thought I just read your comment in the Lucid vs. dbkelly thread. This would also be in contravention of copyright wouldn't it?

Seriously, I think a free form db of different parts submitted by individuals, and reviews for each part (perhap with a thumbs up, thumbs down rating) might be the way to go.

I'll get to work on the back end.

Does that mean scanned pics and pics from other websites can't be posted? Then how are we going to get any pics on this catalog? I guess the people who own the parts will just have to post pics of their cars. Which also means, if nobody on this board owns the product we can't see it, I guess.

How about offering some free ad space to some of these manufacturers in exchange for some of their goodies, Then the parts could be evaluated and reviewed before inclusion in the web catalog. I'm sure we could find more than one volunteer to try out some goodies.
