Default License Plate Holes on Front Bumper

I just took off my license plate holder and I noticed that the two sets of holes are different. One side has sockets that take in the screws but the other side did not (had a green clip instead). Is this normal?

Left Set of Holes

Right Set of Holes

The bumper cover has threaded brackets held in place by sheet metal wedge washers. They do a substandard job of installing those brackets to the back of the bumper cover at the factory. When my S2000 was brand new, I removed the license plate housing and one of the brackets fell inside the bumper cover when I tried install the bumper plugs. I had to remove the bumper cover and reinstall the brackets by properly press fitting the wedge washers.
The left side of your bumper still has the bracket in place. The right side the bracket has fallen out and may still be in the bumper cover but is must likely lost.

Removing the bumper to replace the holders is not that hard or time consuming.

The plugs should still fit in the holes right? I think that I'll just go with those instead.

Nope, the bumper plugs will not fit without the metal bracket behind the bumper cover. The plugs snap in using those brackets therefor if u try to put the bumper plug in that side missing the piece, it will just fall out.

Take your bumper off and see whats missing, then buy the piece, then install.

Simple.

Is the bracket #10 on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...atcgry5=BUMPERS? Do I need to order any other parts to install it back on assuming that the entire component fell off? Thanks guys!
