Don't quote me on this, but I believe the standard size is 6x12 inches.I posted yesterday about the front plate requirement in the state of California and I think in most states the law is the same when it comes to plates.

Order a grill from coastalmetals, and send him your plate. He'll cut off the bottom, and attach it to the gril. it doesn't mess with the lines of the car. I'll post a pic when i get home

In San Francisco, the tickets are 100 bucks now for no front plate. It's made me put mine on.

Sheesh, you should all register your cars in Florida. No front plate required here! Glad we don't have to deal with this.

Do you have to be a resident to register out of state? If not, then what are some more of the advantages, and of course the disadvantages? Thanks in advance.

Well, first, if you wanna do it like me you gotta be in the military. My place of residence is in Washington but I live in Colorado. I registered my car in WA and thanks to a new tax law for military, when I registered for the first time, I didn't have to pay tax on my car. So instead of $3000+, I paid about $40. By the way, I was the first military person to register a brand new car in WA. They had to write another program for the DMV just for me(They only had a program for used cars) I love the Air Force...so many perks.

Edit: Washington requires two plates but I only put on the back one. What the cops don't know won't hurt them.

It doesn't matter if you register the car out od state. You still have to obey the laws of the state that you are driving the car in.

This might depend on the state. I got pulled over in Wisconsin for no front plate, but I had Florida plates, and Florida driver's license. I think the cop said with WI license and FL plates/registration, you get the ticket because you didn't register your car in your state of residence. Anyway, he let me go, no warning or anything.
