life without S2000
My S has been sitting in my garage most of the time. Probably drive it less than 500 miles/yr. However, when I do drive it, I am glad I still own one. I'd prefer to just drive it at the track and would miss it if I didn't have it. Like the other posters above, if it didn't exist, I'd have a different 2 door sports car.
OP, I feel you on the point about Hondas being addictive. They are not just another car, and I'd miss my S terribly if I had to get rid of it. It's my weekend driver; getting back in it and driving it hard is one of the things I look forward to towards the end of every week! Of course there are a few other cars out there that are just as if not more special - the Elise comes to mind for me - but they are out of my price range. So yes, my life would be a bit "impoverished" if I didn't have the S.
I was just thinking....
How would be a life without/not having S2000?
After so many years of owning one I realized that having one VS not having one it really does make a difference, at least for me.
If I do not have one in the garage I feel like empty like something is missing.
The S becomes part of your life, u almost plan your day around her.
I cannot see myself without one.
Imagine one day you open ur garage and instead of the S you find a miserable, modest car NO VTEC NO 8/9K, just a flat boring car.
You guys think about it....
S forever

I have been without the S since October.......
The days have been colder, darker and I am forced to drive a lesser vehicle until the warmer weather rolls around.
Soon though, the days will be warmer and sunnier and I can drive it again.

The S has managed to work its way into my soul in a way that I am almost ashamed to admit to. Yeah, there are lots of other beautiful, wonderful and "better" vehicles out there. But, for me, the S2000 is pretty much perfect. There is just something about working my way through the gears in this car that puts a ridiculous smile on my face.
I have driven a lot of other sports cars and I will often be impressed with the handling, acceleration, etc., and feel a little envious at the areas where I feel the S is deficient. However, once I slide back behind the wheel of my car my grin comes back, and I very happy I am not driving a different vehicle.
The only downside to owning an S - I live in Canada, and it is parked for half the year.

Part of me thinks I would've just went even more extreme with my Honda Prelude turbo build...the S saved me lol. Ultimately I probably would've been in a 350z then would've upgraded to a 370z, or M3. I wouldn't have known what fun & excitement a s2k can bring. I prob wouldn't care about driving top down on a nice clear summer night; or how revving to 9k would bring me so much joy.
Sure there are cars that are now more powerful, luxurious, and able than the S...however, nothing will change how fortunate I feel being an s2k owner

I had my 02 for 3 years, then we sold it under the guise of only having one car. Then I bought a cheap, old, slow Miata. It was a lot of fun, but it was no s2000 so I got another last august. Its still a great car, but I think there was something special about our first one. We are taking delivery of a Corvette Stingray tomorrow to replace the S2000. I don't think I will be disappointed that it has no VTEC and no 8/9K. I think its going to be a blast. Of course, spending over 3x as much to get a more exciting car speaks volumes for the s2000. It really is an excellent car.
