life without S2000
once power is no longer your pursuit. The s2000's ability to corner, its quick steering, darty personality due to its lightweight, low construction will be fully appreciated.
Imo an s2000 makes a good third or forth car. It takes time in other cars to appreciate what honda gave us. The 300K reliability isnt anything to sneeze at either.
if the s2000 didnt exist, my car would be at the mechanic for vanos or sub frame issues. I'd have a z3m coupe.

This may be the truest thing said here today. It was always such a revelation driving the S after a couple of days driving the "pratical" car even when that pratical car was a 300hp WRX. The s2000 has a balance that is sublime. Honestly, I wish we had garage space for it, I would keep it since I think they will continue to hold their value anyway.
LOL , yeah i agree with that. I do love my S. during the winter months, i get all antsy to drive it. i love my STI and all but its different when i go out with the S. there is a purpose. drive to autocross. but i bought a corolla too. for those summer days i want a nice exciting lightweight, rev happy challenge. its probably gonna be another money pit. but the s2k is done and STI will receive no upgrades.
I bought my first MY00 S2k (Silverstone/Red) about 12 years ago.
Owned it for 3 or 4 years and then bought a brand new one MY05 (Monza Red/Black) but a new baby meant I had to get a more practical car so I sold it within a year to get a Lexus RX300.
I spent 3 years of anguish and pain every time I saw another S2k on the road. It was like someone sticking a knife in my heart and twisting it. I felt physically sick every time! [I'm not exaggerating].
Luckily the price of petrol went up to make the Lexus prohibitively expensive to fill up at 19.7 mpg. So, I went and bought another MY05 (Monza Red/Black) and some poxy Peugeot 107 as a family runaround.
For the last 4 years, my life has been complete again. I can honestly say, there is not a singe day when I don't really look forward to getting in my S!
My advice: don't put yourself in the situation where you don't have one. Its not a place I want to be in again.
I did a deal with my oldest boy who is now 9: I would only get rid of the S for either a proper Porsche [not a Boxter) or Aston Martin or another S2k. I'd still miss it even if I had one of those though.

Hi All;
I don't post much but the comments are right on when not being able to drive my Silverstone daily. I do get to pacify my cravings with my husbands 95 NSX. He trusts me with her even though the NSX has a different personality, but plenty of fun on the other end of the Honda spectrum !
