Default To Lojack or to not Lojack?

I was about to get a s2000 in florida and the guy said it came with Lojack and he promised it wouldn't cost me anything extra.
is it a bad thing in some way? or are they just being sneaky perhaps?

I know what lojack does, it tracks your car in case stolen. however i haven't had one before and know little else about them. if anyone has any advice on this please help me out.

thanks much everyone.

The ignition immobilizer should prevent any kind of drive-away theft other than a straight car-jacking. Someone would have to tow or flatbed your car to actually steal it. You can learn more about Lojack by going to: http://www.lojack.com/foryou/index.htm

I would have to disagree with lvs2k. I know that mine was not flat beded away. I've lost one S2000 in the mall parking lot, and the secound one from my own house. Thefs' know how to take the car. All the immobilizer does it keep the kids from taking it. LoJack can help you get it back if they do. Having it instaled today on my new car. Let's hope that I can keep this one.

Did you say you had 2 S2000s stolen already????
Damn man, are you parking in the Ghetoo and leaving your top down with the keys in the ignition???
That makes me want to hire deadly ninja assasins to guard my car.

Yeah lost 2 S2000. Not parking in the "Ghetoo", but close to it. I live in San Diego CA. The first one had the top up, and stock alarm set. The second one was even worse because it was in my garage. I've given up on trying to have a S2000. Going to something that is less likely to be taken, for now.

One theft was at the mall in Escondido (about a year ago), and the second was at my house in Imperial Beach (just a few weeks ago).
I went back to owning a Saturn. Doesn't perform nearly the same, but I can take people with me, and it's half the price. I will be getting another S2000 but not until I move out of San Diego in about six months.
As for the LoJack... It's in. Took them less then 1/2 hour, and they did it here at the house.
