traverling in my s2000 to the rocky mountains (canadian range) is one of the most fun road trips ever, i would suggest going there in the summer. there's just too much gusty winds and sudden weather change during other times of the year

I've done serveral long trips without a problem. I'm 6'2" / 200lbs.

Just keep reminding yourself to sit up straight because the seat will not work for you if start sliding off.

For the long boring stretches, keep the top up. Otherwise, if there is too much wind with the top down, put the windows up. I've "tested" this up to 124mph

I just drove for 12 hours down to NC from NY and surprisingly it wasn't bad at all. I was pretty shocked actually.

RIGHT KNEE.

Bottom Line... Bring foam, small pad... Whatever you can find.

Your right leg(knee) will make you a poster child for Jerry's Kids.

I agree with using ear plugs, especially on the Interstate section's of a long trip. The modern type soft ear plugs will take the edge of the road and wind noise, along with the bonus of making it seem like the car is much more refined. You wont here as much suspention, trainsmission or diff noise either.
You will still be able to hear all of the neccessary noises, such as engine note for shifting ease and of course emergency sirens. (hopefully not directed at you...)

Have a great trip

Noise was not a problem for me for couple of 1000+ miles road trips, because I canceled out wind & engine noise with blasting music .
Oh but you may experience bit of hearing lose.
