Default looking to buy ... have a couple of questions

Hi, looking to change my type r civic for an s2000.

Just have a couple of questions if anyone can help answer please.

I've noticed when the roof is down there doesn't appear to be any kind of cover for the hood ..... it appears to have the mechanism pointing up on both sides ..... not a very flush fit with the lines of the car. Are there any covers available to tidy it up?

Road tax - would I be right to think that all cars pre Apr 06 are the lower tax band and newer car are in the highest £400+ per year?

I would assume all running costs except insurance to be on a par with the civic .... can anyone confirm this?

cheers
Paul

They do make a cover for when the top is down.

I owned a 02 civic before the S also. With a clean record i am only paying about $15 more a month for an AP1, so not much different there either.

Good luck finding an S!

When I was searching for my S most didn't have it either with the car. Probably was a factory option and people sold them later on or just never got one...

Most likely you will have to search around and buy one separate unless you get lucky.

As for taxes, and annual costs that will vary depending on living location. S2000's come with a factory boot to cover the top when it is down. I've used mine once since I bought the car new. It's just too much of a pain.

I bought my car used and it didn't come with a boot. I haven't missed it at all. One of the great things about the S2000 is how quickly the top goes up and down and taking the time to put a boot on would sort of negate that.

I have the boot, when I bought the car I drove home 800 miles top down with the boot on the whole way. It really cleans up the look. If I'm just going for a cruise though the boot doesn't get put on usually.
