This is OT, but has anyone tried the new Passport Solo S2 cordless? The price seems a bit high, and I can't seem to find it at a discount anywhere.

Cordless detectors are not as effective. If you must have one it is better than not having one but their performance is not comparable.
Operating on a battery and to conserve power these are unable to continuously scan the entire spectrum of the increasingly popular Ka band. If you can get a Passport 8500 or the V1.

I absolutely love my V1. It is by far the best radar dectector I have ever had. From what I have read, the 8500 is a great radar detector too.

Go with V1 you can program out x band and increase alarm worning on ka & k. Can't drive with out arrows.

OK, I'm convinced. I just ordered a V1, and I do a lot of driving for work, so I'll report back once its in use.
