I'm usually in 6th at around 35.

I guess I'm used to driving slow?

On a straight area I think the pull in 6th from 35 is fine. If I really want to start accelerating I just pop it into 2nd and hope no cops are around xD.

assuming I don't mod the hell outta the car and launch on sticky tires, will the stock clutch and tranny hold up for over 100k miles barring ridiculous levels of abuse?
There are a couple of threads here with postings from several owners with over 100K miles. The clutch will most likely need to be changed, along with a few other "maintenance" items, but on the most part, the car should hold up well if you don't abuse it all the time and if you tend to regular maintenance items.

i have one as a beater to allow the fun car more leisure time. i bought it because it was reliable and gutless. due to my addiction to the go fast crack pipe i am unable to control myself so it works great

Be forwarned, this is, IMHO, the worst car honda has made since the 88-96 preludes. lots o problems for a Honda.

Since you have a SS, you should get a POS Z28 for a daily driver.

(Make sure you know which one you are getting into in the morning. )

u for real bro? What kind of problems?

i read the tsb lists, it looks like picking up a 02+ model should be relatively free of problems....

my main reason for looking into the s2000 was the reliability that I have come to expect from hondas, toyotas, nissans and the like....

Being below 2,000 RPM's, while in gear, really isn't good at all for your engine.
