Given your size and attraction to torque, why aren't you considering a C4/5 Corvette?

Uhhh...did u see his budget?

To all of the people giving me decent feedback, I certainly appreciate it....

I am kind of confused as to why anybody is harboring hostility after reading through this thread....

Im going to say it again my jaw did not drop from the power of the s2000 i test drove.... if that offends you i apologize, but that is my opinion and that is what car boards are all about..... Honestly my friends honda accord v6 feels faster then the s2000....

but this is NOT why I want an s2000, I want one for the reliability, handling, and ridiculously tight chassis! I think a certain level of maturity is lacking here for all of the people who got all bent out of shape because I would consider an s2000 a "daily driver"... believe it or not I do, and don't need back seat room and trunk space for my daily driver.....

and I will gladly explain to all of you my celica is a POS that I am looking to replace.... I in no way meant that the s2000 was as fast as my stupid celica.....

Again, sorry for stirring up so much sentiments, and I do truly appreciate the legitimate feedback I am getting from the moderators....

I'm interested in an S2000 this summer after graduation and this thread has been interesting to say the least. My first car was an 88 CRX with a Garrett turbo and now I'm driving an 96 GSR.

My question is I know the S2000 is RWD but how much different is approach to good exit speed in a FWD car compared to an S2000?

other than the fact that you'll be faster in both approach and exit speed, someone who is an autox junkie can give you a better answer.

hehe, this is why the butt dyno lies. lol. your butt dyno tells you the accord "feels" faster, when in reality, an S2000 would walk it in any sense of the word.

Yes, I did: $14K - $16K.

You can easily pick up a C4 Corvette in that price range.

Perfect beater car for a large man who likes torque!

[QUOTE=xviper,May 22 2005, 07:54 PM] "Overdrive", by definition is any gear that will give a final drive ratio of less than 1:1.

yeah I'm not sure what madman is talking about either.

compare the list of TSB's for the S2000 to other cars, and it has FAR less TSB's than most. even the civic and accord have more TSBs. And even then, if you really look at the TSB's over HALF of them are thing that people were nit-picky about because they bought the car not realizing it was sacrificing practicality for sportiness, etc.

So what are you comparing it to when you say this is the worst car honda has made since the prelude? because if you look at the number of problems per vehicle percentage/capita per JD power, etc, the S2000 is one of the most problem free hondas there is on the market.
lets see, suspension pieces coming apart, welds not holding, tranny buzzing, tranny grinding, clutch buzzing, top rattle, 00-02 engine oil starvation (and 03) just to name a few. Since they are high $$ items i worry a bit since i drive like a madman. That being said, the car is holding up ok so far. Nothing to really compare it to since honda doesn't make fast cars (if you call any of their lineup fast) but compared to the NSX it has some issues. (dont gimme the snap ring thing) Honda is still the #2 automaker when it comes to engineering IMHO and they make a great car. Now if the dealerships knew what they were doing we'd be set.
