Default Looking at a s2000 good deal?

Hey guys! my buddy has a 00 black s2000, 40k miles on the body and 1900 on the motor. Motor was rebuilt becasue of the faulty valve retainers on #4, it has a 3degree angle job, CAI, toda header and apexi n1 exhaust, coilovers on ap2 wheels painted black.....he said with everything 14.5k but lower without the header and exhaust....i was looking around and it seems to be a very good deal but i would like some input before i get into some trouble.

Seeing it's your buddy's you should know the car. The price seems good to me.

Sounds like it's too good to be true. Most of the time the things that sound too good to be true usually are though.

14.5 with 40k on the motor is wayy too cheap IMO. Bought mine with almost double the mileage for 15k.

Faulty valve retainers could indicate that the engine was previously over-revved.

Check the frame to see if it is bent. Check to see if the car has been crashed, etc.

Sounds to me like the car has been beat on, but that's just me.

GL on the purchase. Make sure to compare lots of cars before you put that kind of money down and most importantly be patient. Good things come to those who wait.
