Lost My Keys
I lost my keys at the club last night. Of all the keys--it was one of my original keys, my valet key, and the keyless entry remote. I'm afraid someone picked it up. I want to know if there's a way Honda can re-code my key, get me a valet key, and the keyless entry remote? If they were found--I am afraid they might try to either steal my things or steal my car. I won't be driving my car to the club for a long time. But just was wondering before I call my Honda dealership.
Oh why did this have to happen--I hope my keys were thrown away-

Have you tried calling the club to see if someone picked it up and left it with them? I don't know what Honda can do about this, but if you don't get your original keys back...I'd suggest not driving that car back there.

That's my kind of girl lol.. Club life... perfect car.. perfect color... too bad I am freakin 15... that can be a challenge when looking for girls... lol anyways... I went to get a copy of my key today and forgot they were magnetically encoded.. said I would have to get Honda to do it... If I was you, I would make sure I got a copy of the spare incase you loose it by accident...
I realized I lost my keys when I was leaving the club. I was dancing all night so I am 100% sure I dropped my keys on the dance floor. I don't bring a purse or anything when I hit the clubs...all I bring is my cell and I tuck my car keys into my waistband... I went back into the club and searched everywhere....the employees were already sweeping the floor...and throwing all the trash into the garbage...so I took my jewelry off and went thru the trash--YUP! My bare hands in The CLUB trash--beer bottles, cigarettes, ashes, drinks, etc...and no keys! So I had to "break" into my car to get to my other set so I could leave....
Yeah, I can't drive my car to that club anymore--even though the security guys know me and always save a spot for me. I wish I could but they can't stand by my car all night-- I waited for everyone to leave before I went to my car...but I hate that I was surrounded by all the security guys when I was "breaking" into my car.
I will go by the club again and see if my keys were turned in but I highly doubt it...I really hope it was thrown in the trash---But I will call Honda today and see if there is a way to re-encode the keys!
I was having too much fun dancing with everyone-so I didn't notice my keys falling....dam dam dam!

IMO, It would be very difficult to determine what kind of Honda your key would be. (I hope that sentence made sense) What I'm trying to say is that the Honda Accord and the Honda Civic has the exact type of key and as for the remotes, the Accord and the S2000 is the same. If you still feel weary about it, I think you can replace the whole key system from Honda. I don't knoe exactly how much it would cost but when I got my car stolen, I had to replace the starter. I really wouldn't worry too much about it because there are millions and millions of Hondas out there and I dont think a thief would go to every single Honda and try to unlock it.

May,
I had this happened to me before on my mom's Accord, it was pretty easy to get new keys. I brought the car in, told them I need more keys with NEW codes. They brought the car in the shop, took my keys, made a few copies, re-programed the codes with the car I guess ... I forgot how much $ exactly, I think it was 60 some dollars ....
As for the remote, get a new one from Honda, it comes with a mini manual that tells you how to set it up with your car by pressing a few buttons here and there. I know because I had to replace the remote's battery. Good luck, hope your old keys are buried somewhere.
BTW, now if you just want a copy of programmed key to your car, you can give the parts your VIN number. They have a copy of the key and its codes stored in the database. I brought my JDM key to them for cutting, they only asked for my VIN .... New service I guess.
