Are low miles S2000 a problem?
There are cases where extremely low miles may require some work. I've seen some 2000 models with under 5k and this might need sme attention. I think 20k miles is enough where the car was atleast used somewhat often. You should be ok
I purchased a 2000 AP1 with 17,025 miles and have had no issues after 3 months and just over 2k+ miles of driving. Got it from the original owner who drove it lightly and maintained it well. My mechanic give it a look over and found no problems except it needed new tires. The engine loosened up after driving on the highway a few times so I'd say the engine was not really broken in. It needs to be opened up once in awhile. Look for cosmetic things that are affected by age like rubber/plastic bits and seat wear. Mine has developed a small stress tear in the carpet that must be sewed. Not a big deal for a 14 year old car.
I bought my 2004 about a month and a half ago. It only had 13,700 miles on it and was obviously properly stored when not driven. I don't think it had ever been driven in the rain. Everything on the car except for the tires was original. I even got about a month of service out of it's original battery before it started getting weak.
I have a 03 with 33k miles. I bought it with 32k miles. I don't know the prior maintenance history because the owner passed away. I have not had any issues with it at all. It has. Cel for the secondary air pump but I will be removing that.
Miles aren't the full story. Low miles are good, care is better.
When I sold mine with 118k on the clock it looked and drove like it had 18 miles on it. No joke. A detailed commented on how clean the car was. Had been tracked too.
