I received my racing jack last week from Harbor Freight. When I opened the box there were ball bearings all over the place. One of the rear caster wheels came apart during transit, looks like it was never stamped together properly. Everything else about the Jack seemed OK, I knocked out all the bearings and tested the jack partially lifting the car.

I offered to keep the jack and just have the replacement caster sent out. Good thing I don't really need the jack right now...

Harbor Freight is checking inventory in their warehouses. This will take 10 business days. If they do not have any spare "take-off" casters they will get them from the manufacturer, which will take 6-8 weeks.

The jack comes with a 90-day warranty. I will ask them to send me a letter that says the warranty starts when I have a complete unit to use.

you're going to keep a mechnical item that was bad, right out of the box?

if it were me.... i'd never trust that jack again. if a caster were to "come apart" while in the process of lifting the car, it could provide just enough tilt and/or jolt to get the car to slip off the puck and send the jack right up through the floorpan or engine. good luck getting harbor freight (or any company) to cover the resulting damages.

warranty, shmarranty. send it back at their cost. screw waiting for a replacement part.

Two weeks later and the new caster wheel is here.

That wasn't so bad...

The defective wheel seems to be a fluke compared to the quality of the rest of the unit.

Pictures below. Again, this is the $90 Harbor Freight model.

I just purchased the HF jack shown in the pictures above. This is a much nicer jack than the previous aluminum jack they sold up until a couple months ago. Two previous buyer's have used both and agree.

Here are the specs on new one. Aluminum racing jack, US General # 91039, from Harbor Freight. $89.99 (sale). Works with both the side jacking and center jacking positions on the S2000. It

What's the clearance on that jack? It doesn't look like it would fit under my car .....

3 1/2" sticks in my mind but don't quote me. I am lowered and I can still get to all jack points except the front center without putting blocks under the tire first.

Only complaint I have on this jack is a bit of fluid that will leak out around the piston in the back...other than that the thing is fantastic
