Default Lowering VTECH

Has anyone modified their VTECH to engage from 6k to around 5K.

If so, what are the results, and are there any negative consequences to the engine as a result of this change?

its VTEC.

if you choose random vtec engagement points, you can actually lose power. the best way is to get on a dyno and change it accordingly. btw, i think you can use a Apex'i V-AFC to change the vtec crossover.

Most VTECH phones come with the option to mount them vertically (say on a wall) or horzontally (say your desk). If you want to lower it, simply switch the mounting system from your wall to your desk.

I could understand that you might lose some power by lowering the VTEC to 3 or 4k, but 5k seems high enough to still benefit.

The RSX people are doing pretty much the same thing on their Acuras with some very impressive HP figures. They seem to have the dyno figures to support their changes.

The RSX people are not doing a simple change in VTEC crossover.

Hondata is remapping their fuel, changing timing, etc.

Keep in mind the K series engine in the RSX Type S is also more advanced (flame suit on), than the F20C.

I mean we have a great engine, but its going to be passed up by the K Series very soon.

I had a V-AFCH ( for Da Hapa) and tuned the car on a dyno. Whenever I changed the VTEC engagement point I lost power. I left the engagement at 6000 but lowered the disengagement to 5800 so the engine didn't drop out of VTEC so much in slow corners.
