Default maintance required???

I was driving to work today and found the maintance required flashing in the middle of a drive, I have 13,300 miles on my s2000. Is this normal? or is it something else wrong with the car. I am just figuring its the 15k service but not too sure.

Thanks!

Check the FAQ, read the owner's manual and get an oil change.

I'm around the same mileage as you are right now and my Check Engine Light is on too. I'm going to go and change my oil this weekend, picked up the Mobil 1 last night. Going to go and check the manual to see what other service is needed right now...may take it to the dealership if I can't do it myself.

"Resetting Maintenace Light
At approximately 7000 Miles the maintenance light will appear on your dash. It is very easy to shut the light off or cancel it.

Put key in ignition

Push trip reset button, continue to hold button for 10 seconds

Turn key to next position

Hold button until light stays off.

The secret is holding the reset button and turning the key to the next position. It does not specify that in the manual "

I understand that the maintenance light should go on, and I know how to reset it. But why would it go on at 13,300 miles? Mine did that too and confused the hell out of me. The maintenance schedule has the oil changes at 11,250 and of course, 15,000. Anyone know the answer to this?

The light starts to flash when it gets near the recommended reminder mileage. It stays on constantly once you hit the mileage.
