My maintenence required light came on today. Does it just mean I have a scheduled tune-up appointment to make? And when will it stop coming on?

If this is your first time you must have just hit 6000 miles. All it means is that maintenance is required. I think it is your first oil and filter change. If you do it yourself check the owners book and it will tell you how to turn the light off yourself.

 

I'm guessing if he's driving an 01 he's got more than 6,000 miles on her.Do a search VR resetting the light is very easy.
