Default Maintenance Light blinking

So tonight when coming home from from a movie at 1:00 AM, I decided to open it up on the empty, wide open freeway. I downshifted and took it to vtec a few times and once I got off the freeway, I see the maintenance required light start blinking. After 10-20 seconds it suddenly turns off and doesnt light up the rest of the way home. Should I be worried about this? I just got an oil change 20-30 miles ago if that makes any difference. Someone please put my mind at ease and tell me that I havent hurt my car. Thanks in advance.

you didnt hurt your car. a check-engine light is bad. maintenance light is useless.

the light flashes after 6k miles and remind you its time for service
meaing take it to the dealer it will stay on after 12k, if you service it yourself (change oil and check fluids) the owners manual tells how to put the ligt out its easy has something to do with ip button

About 6k miles after being reset, the Maintenance light will blink for several seconds. After that it will blink for several seconds after each time you start the car. After about another 1k miles it will come on and stay on whenever the ignition is on.

To reset it follow these instructions listed in the S2Ki library as a helpful FAQ.

CEL doesnt have to mean anything bad, I can swap the cat. with a test pipe and I will get the CEL instantly, CEL works with all the OBD2 sensors, and if one of the sensors is eliminated/not functional, the ECU will also give you a CEL. I do agree that maintenance light is useless.

Thanks again for the info. I was having a very similar issue with my car. It's just past 6000 miles.
