Default Maintence Required light?

Well as i was driveing my maintence required light poped up. Any idea whats going on with my car? Will this afect performance? Plz help me guys im freaking out already.

no its just programed to turn on at certain times, read the manual to turn it off. its just a reminder.

Maybe so, but even someone who's zero days old should have the ability to read the owner's manual and if he bought the car used without one, he should have questioned the previous owner why there isn't one.
